Whale Watch Adventures in Hervey Bay: An Epic Season so far!
We’re in the thick of the 2024 whale watching season in Hervey Bay, and it’s been absolutely epic! The humpback whales are here in big numbers, and we’ve been having some unforgettable encounters! Whether you’re a first-timer or a whale watching pro, there’s nothing quite like seeing these gentle giants up close in their natural habitat - we still get SO amazed every single day, every single trip!
Every day we’ve been spotting loads of whales, and they’ve been putting on quite the show! From massive breaches and graceful tail slaps to being 'mugged' for an even closer look, these whales know how to entertain!!
From September onwards we start to see Mother's & Calves come into the bay to rest, play, feed & teach their young before heading back on their long journey down South to the Antarctic. It's always SO special being able to witness the calves learning from their mum and enjoying our beautiful waters in the bay.
We’ve unfortunately had to cancel a few trips due to strong winds in the bay. It’s always a shame and we hate having to cancel, but we want to make sure everyone stays safe - safety is our number one priority. We’re always keeping an eye on the weather to make sure every trip is as safe and enjoyable as possible.
We’ve had some fantastic guests on board this season, and it’s been a blast having you all with us. Your excitement and love for the whales make every trip special for us. Hearing your gasps of amazement and seeing your smiles when a whale breaches or pops up for a closer look is a reminder of why we love what we do and why Hervey Bay is such a special place for seeing these beautiful animals.
With the school holidays coming up, we’re especially excited to welcome families onboard. There’s something magical about seeing the excitement in a child when they spot their first whale. It’s the perfect way to introduce them to the ocean’s wonders and the importance of looking after our marine life.
